Overview
In this personal project, I had the opportunity to design a gift card for Kwik Trip's 2020 Gift Card Design Contest. The design made it into the top 10, and just missed the grand prize out of nearly 770 entries. Still, a nice accomplishment and one of my favorite designs I've worked on.
The top 10 finalists were selected with the following Criteria in mind:
1. Originality – the uniqueness and creativity of the submitted art
2. Brand Relevance – the apparent connection between the subject matter and Kwik Trip, Inc.
3. Visual Appeal – the overall perception of the art including color, shapes, fonts, etc.
4. Composition – the arrangement of visual elements and main features in the art

It's 2023 and the writing is on the "virtual" wall. Mixed Reality design is on the way, and coming fast. While still in it's infancy, the tools used to create virtual and augmented worlds are quickly developing and getting more user friendly. One such application is Adobe Aero.
I recently started exploring Aero, just barely scratching the surface of it's capabilities. In a very short time, I figured out some cool techniques and use cases to dig into. In the experiment below, I wanted to bring the Kwik Trip gift card artwork I had previously created to life using AR.
